Well so I haven't posted in a while. I'm so busy updating all these other sites, like my facebook fan page: Facebook fan page and deviantart. I'm probably going to integrate this soon into my website. Oh yeah and if you like this design please go here and buy some merch. It's for a good cause, keeping me fed. :)

Got a lot to do today, working on several websites, including our own new site which I will post the link to when it's ready for viewing.

I ran across a website the other day: raw.channelfrederator.com/ and I have to say it is one of the best resources for animators/illustrators I've found. There is a good variety of both beginners and seasoned pros and there are great questions asked and very helpful advice all around. I was recently given advice from Chris Battle and he had mentioned drawing some of the Cartoon Network characters for practice so here we are, starting with one of my favorites, Bloo from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends which is copyright Cartoon Network.

Okay, so it's not a cartoon, but I was just testing out my wacom tablet (the intuos 3 6x8) and within a few hours I had this. :) It is available for print here. So long story short, I think I'm going to like owning a tablet. It makes a world of difference.

I decided to show you guys what I was working on recently. It was a couple of characters for a cartoon show concept. These guys were the rejects, but they are cute so I decided to put them up here. Sorry you can't see how the characters turned out, but if it ends up on TV then I'll tell you where to check them out.

Mostly been working on the web design side of things so I haven't had much time to draw anything fun. By the end of the week though, I should have time to draw lots of cool stuff.

Okay...so uh...yeah. Well I was fooling around in Photoshop and was like hmm...I need to brush up on my painting techniques. I've been working so much in vectors lately that I thought I'd stretch my other artistic muscles. I honestly had no idea what I was drawing, this was not a planned piece. I more or less grabbed some colors, through them on the canvas and squished them around til it looked like something. *shrug* He's kinda cute though, I'm gonna keep him and name him Herb.

I thought I'd try outlining in Illustrator and touching up with Photoshop and adding a quick background. I think it turned out relatively well. I would have replaced the old one but I decided I still liked the sketch style and decided to leave it up. Coming soon: My version of the white rabbit. :)

I was thinking about the upcoming holidays while I was doodling and came up with this one. I was hoping to make sure he wasn't like Bambi, but also somewhat anatomically correct. I looked at several deer photos before drawing this one. I'm going to color it another way, or perhaps save the coloring for the next one I do.

Okay, so many have asked me for a blog. I've often looked at blogs as a senseless waste, but I was thinking about it the other day and looking at all the lovely ones I've found and thought, hmm... I wonder if anyone would read this if I wrote it? So here I am, although I must say I will likely use this as more of a virtual sketchbook, showcasing the things I draw just for the sake of keeping up the skills and not for istockphoto.com or zazzle.com (although if you want anything I draw on here I'll probably set up a special zazzle.com for it). This might help me set up a portfolio for Disney, since I've been considering applying. Okay! So with all that said, let's get started!
